My Swim Season officially starts today. I’m pumped for this season. I love this sport. It’s ironic really, when I was a kid. I almost drowned, & I joined the swim team with no knowledge of how to swim. I was just a Freshman, that was bound to fail at the sport. Not to mention it was my first sport ever, besides a little backyard soccer & dodgeball during gym class. Being on the Swim Team meant.. dedication. Despite my first 3 weeks of struggle during swim, I stayed. Because what good does quitting bring you? My friend bailed on me because he couldn’t do it. He joined wrestling, & quit that too. Because he never does try. I do though. I was the Most Improved last year, & ended the season with 3 bronze medals. I learned how to swim like an athlete, dive, flip turn, streamline, etc. My season wasn’t that impressive last year. But now, Sophomore year. 2nd year of swim, with some experience. I am going to make sure this upcoming season makes my Freshman season look like crap. I want the Gold Medals, But you have to lose some, to get some. So ill accept the Silver & Bronze’s for a little bit. But I’m going for that Gold. One thing, I always blessed myself before I dove in to swim, at a meet. For my Uncle Jorge, who passed away on Christmas of ‘10. The other half of my Freshman season was tough, & I dedicated to you. This year, will also be to you. We all miss you. May you R.I.P. I love you, See you when the time is right.
